Welcome to my Air Fryer fish and chips.
I grew up in a small seaside town in the North of England that was full to bursting with fish and chip shops. It wasn’t unheard of to see four of them in a row next to each other. And come summer because all the holiday makers were visiting and wanted fish and chips there wouldn’t be a fish and chip shop that wasn’t super busy.
I remember one of the ones that I worked at. The fish and chips were really bad but because they had an excellent location they were never short of customers.

But for a cheap lunch you couldn’t beat fish and chips and when my American relatives visit it is this and the beer that they head for.
Kyle hasn’t experienced any fish and chips so one day we will take him back to the town where Dominic & I met and grew up and treat him to some.
In the meantime we made him the fish and chips recipe below and it has kept him satisfied for the meantime.

can the fish and fries be cooked together or are they done separately
Hi Thomas
To be honest we have not tried cooking them together because we like to give the chips a good shake and if you do that with the fish in them the breadcrumb would just come off so that is why we cooked them separately. We left the chips warming in the oven whilst the fish cooked.
Kind Regards
Sam
How would I cook them using batter instead of breadcrumbs?
Hi Ruth
Yes we have done a battered version here:
https://www.recipethis.com/slimming-world-beer-battered-fish-chips-fakeaway/
We cooked the fish in the baking tin that you can buy from Amazon:

This is the baking pan we have and it fits in our XL Philips Airfryer easily.
Kind Regards
Sam
I like your recipe, but the pop-ups on your site are extraordinarily annoying… I won’t be back.
Hi Holly
Sorry for your trouble. Can you tell me if you were viewing on a mobile or tablet ? and what the pop up looked like please.
Kind regards
Sam
Hey there, do l need to turn the fish at anytime?
Thanks, Donna.
Hi Donna
You can do if you think it is going to stick but you shouldn’t need to.
Thanks.
Dom
Never thought about making fish and chips in the air fryer before, but these were amazing and the crisp is well worth the effort for.
