Air Fryer Frozen Salmon Patties

Air Fryer Frozen Salmon Patties is the best. The salmon is so tender, but it still has a natural crispy coating. Because they are not super fat like air fryer hamburgers, they don’t take as long to cook.

These air fryer frozen salmon patties happened by chance. It is not something I have come across in the supermarkets in Portugal.

It was while I was at my favourite supermarket in Spain that I grabbed some salmon patties.

They were among the fresh fish section and caught my eye.

When we visit Spain, we always do a big grocery shop on the way home and then fill up our fridge and freezer with our favourite things. Mainly foods that I can’t get here in Portugal. Such as boneless chicken thighs, tubs of alioli, saffron and Lindt chocolate at the best price I have ever seen.

The supermarket is a bit like Waitrose with better quality products but cheap like Morrisons making it a great option for a monthly shop.

The one we visit is just outside the city of Sevilla in Spain and is about 2 hours drive from our home. We will fill the bags with ice to keep the salmon patties and other meat and fish cool.

When we got home, we emptied the car and the salmon patties went in our chest freezer and became frozen salmon patties that were ready to be cooked in the air fryer.

Cooking Frozen Salmon Patties In The Air Fryer

To cook frozen salmon patties in the air fryer is very easy because they are so thin, and they stay together well without breaking up. But you need to consider overcrowding too. You can’t over fill the air fryer and I prefer to cook my salmon patties in the air fryer grill pan.

Air Fryer Grill Pan

This is because the air fryer grill pan is just like cooking salmon patties on the barbecue and will give a similar flavour and look.

Plus, it stops the salmon patties from sticking to the air fryer basket.

How To Cook Frozen Salmon Patties In The Air Fryer?

Air Fryer Frozen Salmon Patties step by step

To cook frozen salmon patties in the air fryer, requires your air fryer and your air fryer grill pan.

Break open your pack of frozen salmon patties and place up to 4 at a time in the grill pan inside of your air fryer.

It is important that you don’t add more than 4 salmon patties at once, otherwise you will have an overcrowding problem, they will stick together and not cook properly.

Once you’re ready to cook your salmon patties, put your air fryer on a medium heat for 8 minutes and you’re DONE. Then it is just planning what sides you’re going to have with your air fryer frozen salmon patties.

I love to serve my salmon patties with Instant Pot Broccoli, but you might have your own ideas!

Healthy Air Fryer Frozen Salmon Patties

My favourite place for sourcing frozen salmon patties is US Wellness Meats. They sell 4oz sockeye salmon burgers and you can buy as little or as many as you want. Though they do also do a lot of other foods too. I recommend you read our US Wellness Meats Review for further information.

Or you can be like me and purchase your salmon patties fresh at the supermarket and then freeze them for later!
