Frozen Steak Fries In Air Fryer
I love air fryer steak and it wouldn’t be the same without air fryer steak fries to serve alongside it. I grew up on steak and chips or fries as Americans would call it.
We had a meat factory in a village close to our local seaside town. It supplied many supermarkets with their meat and on a Saturday morning they would open it to the public. You could then queue up on a Saturday and buy quality meat at factory prices.
My mum and dad would buy the sirloin steak in bulk and load it into the freezer ahead of steak dinners.
Many years later, that same meat factory Dominic worked at and I would love that he could pay workers rates for the steak and we could have our freezer loaded with amazing cuts of beef.
There would be beef topside, beef silverside and plenty of beef sirloin ready for homemade steak dinners.
Dominic would cook the steak while I would cook steak fries in the deep fat fryer and then I would make a delicious mustard steak sauce in a pan to serve with it.
I just wish back then we had an air fryer. Because I would cook our favourite steak fries in the air fryer instead. It would save a lot of calories and they would taste amazing.
That was back in 2003 and the year we got married and now steak dinners taste just as good, but they are made with kitchen gadgets.

Can You Air Fry Frozen Steak Fries?
Yes, you can cook frozen steak fries from frozen in the air fryer. They are fantastic and have an amazing crispy texture to them.
Though they are not as easy to air fry compared to regular air fryer frozen French fries because they are parboiled and frozen with less oil and need more effort making with them.
Air Fryer Oven Steak Fries
However, I don’t recommend air fryer oven steak fries. I have the Power Air Fryer Oven and do love it, but I don’t love it for steak fries.
It is like oven baking your fries and they are just not as good.
They lack that crispy texture that the regular air fryer basket we use brings. If you have the choice please use an air fryer basket as they will taste the best.

How Long To Cook Frozen Steak Fries In Air Fryer?
Air fryer frozen steak fries take JUST 18 minutes at 180c/360f from frozen. This is based on ½ a large bag of steak fries.
I wouldn’t recommend cooking more than 700g of frozen steak fries at once because you will have an overcrowding problem and your fries will lack a crispy texture.
How To Cook Frozen Steak Fries In Air Fryer?
- Load. Add your frozen steak fries into the air fryer basket. If you are wondering which is the best frozen steak fries, then I would highly recommend McCain frozen steak fries for this, or if you are in the UK that would be frozen steak chips.
- Cook. Air fry for approximately 18 minutes depending on how powerful your air fryer is and how many frozen steak fries you are cooking.
- Serve. Then pair with your favourite mains such as cheeseburgers or steak and enjoy.

Air Fryer Steak Fries Ingredients:
- 500 g Frozen Steak Fries
- 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Instructions
- Place frozen steak fries into the air fryer basket and cook for 8 minutes at 180c/360f.
- Shake the fries, spray with extra virgin olive oil, and cook for 5 minutes at 200c/400f. Shake and spray again and another 5 minutes at the same time and temp.
- Serve with your favourite dipping sauce or with air fryer steak.
