Air Fryer Grilled Chicken Kebabs

I was incredibly lucky as a child and enjoyed many holidays on the beautiful Greek Islands.

They were such a wonderful family focused place to be. Beyond the Mediterranean beaches, the swimming pools and the evening entertainment was the food.

OMG Mediterranean food, or more specifically Greek food, was amazing.

As a kid with fussy eating habits, what I took to the most were the grilled chicken kebabs.

Made with lemon and garlic, plenty of extra virgin olive oil and popular Greek dried herbs they were amazing.

When my mum and dad decided where we were eating out at, I would be checking the menu for chicken kebabs.

Or if there was no chicken, pork kebabs or steak kebabs were just as tasty.

Normally ordered with a side of French fries, they were one of my childhood vacation foods.

With a beautiful lemon tree in our garden, garlic in our kitchen and an endless supply of extra virgin olive oil, I decided today was the day to transform one of my childhood Greek favourites to the air fryer.

Why Cook Grilled Chicken In An Air Fryer?

The first food I ever cooked in my brand-new air fryer in 2011 was chicken. It was like the air fryer frozen chicken strips and was delicious.

Since then I have cooked so many different air fryer chicken recipes that I have lost count.

I love chicken in the air fryer.

If cooked right it can be so moist, never dry and full of flavour and best of all it is EASY.

Now when Dominic does not use the air fryer (you cannot take the chef out of him) I am rolling my eyes at him as the air fryer makes chicken so much easier and quicker.

His delicious way of cooking chicken is in the pan with soft cheese, lots of garlic and extra virgin olive oil.

It is delicious, but what I find is that if you did not add the soft cheese it would be dry and boring.

But cook chicken bites in the air fryer instead and OMG it’s just so much easier. No stirring the pan with a wooden spoon.

Just load it in, wait for it to beep and you are done.

Plus, the flavour is amazing.

It is like when you cook grilled chicken on the barbecue and so easy and hands free if you do not like cooking.

Air Fryer Grilled Boneless Chicken Breast

Making air fryer grilled chicken kebabs is just one delicious way that you can cook air fryer grilled boneless chicken breast.

What I love to do is chop up my boneless chicken breast into chunks, load it onto kebab skewers and cook it in the air fryer.

I find for air fryer beginners; it is so much quicker and easier than cooking air fryer chicken breast.

Because the chicken is in smaller chunks it cooks quicker and loading grilled chicken chunks onto skewers is more fun and better for a quick dinner.

Can You Grill Chicken In Air Fryer?

Absolutely and it is delicious!

You might be wondering how grilled chicken in air fryer compares to grilled chicken using other methods.

Many of you have a George Foreman Grill or are loading the chicken onto a barbecue outside.

I find that compared to a barbecue you can alter the heat. While a barbecue goes at full heat and will often make grilled chicken dry, with the air fryer you choose the temperature.

You can cover the meat with silver foil if you want to and like with a barbecue you can cook with skewers for that amazing grilled chicken kebabs effect.

Yes. Really!

Just 15 minutes at a medium/high heat and you have the most delicious Greek lemon grilled chicken.

Yes it is. The Mediterranean diet is the healthiest diet in the world and this is a regular staple.

Air Fryer Grilled Chicken Kebabs Alternative

I understand that not everyone wants to make kebabs or mess about with skewers.

You might not have any skewers in your house and just want to eat delicious grilled chicken.

If that is YOU, marinate the chicken and then follow our air fryer chicken breast for cooking times.

Or load the chicken chunks into the air fryer basket and cook Greek lemon chicken without the skewers.

  1. 5 stars
What a wonderful kebabs idea for the idea. I prefer mine with pork and did some with chicken and some with pork with your marinade. Success. 10/10.
