Welcome to my Airfryer Cheese & Onion Nuggets recipe. A delicious dose of nuggets for when we fancy a meat free cheesy moment. An addiction in the Milner household and perfect for a quick snack for your kids when they come home from school.

I don’t know which side of the fence you are on, but when it comes down to a choice between tomato ketchup and mayonnaise I am the mayo girl. I have never really got the addiction to ketchup and just can’t say no to mayonnaise. I even use it as a replacement to butter for my bread.
When I first tried this mayonnaise it wasn’t like any mayonnaise that I had ever tried. I have always had the cheap supermarket brands and not really thought much about the mayonnaise and always assumed that it was supposed to be really thick.
But last summer I did make my own and Kyle’s Mayonnaise is just like that and it got me thinking….classic shop bought mayonnaise is not great for cooking with, but a real mayonnaise like this one is just the right consistency for home cooking.
You could mix it with your cheese for that delicious sloppy filling inside a nugget or inside a burger (think a Juicy Lucy) or in cheese toasties.
Just think anything with a soft cheese filling and this is just perfect. And then of course it is the law to have some saved to one side for dipping your nuggets into.
Plus it tastes so amazing you will wonder why you ever wanted to eat chicken nuggets for all these years.
This gives you the filling of your dreams. coconut oil, Kyle’s Mayonnaise, cheese, spring onion or chilli. Then cover this up with homemade shortcrust pastry and cook them in the Airfryer.

Airfryer Cheese & Onion Nuggets
- Clean and thinly dice the spring onion. Grate the cheese.
- Add to a medium mixing bowl the onion, cheese, mayonnaise, coconut oil , salt, pepper and the dried thyme. Mix well and make into 8 small balls and fridge for an hour.
- Roll out your shortcrust pastry and make into 8 nugget shapes. Make sure they are big enough for the 8 cheese fillings without being too big or small.
- Place the cheesy mixture into the centre of each of the pastry shape. Then seal it up so that there are no gaps.
- Using a pastry brush, brush egg over the pastry so that it will have an eggy glow when cooked.
- Cook in the Airfryer for 12 minutes at 180c/356f.
- Serve warm and while the cheese is still melting.

My son (who is also called Kyle) is incredibly impressed that he has a mayonnaise named after him and said that I am not allowed to eat it and that it is all HIS. Now that is just charming don’t you think????
He gets a real shock though when he realises that it is not like the processed mayonnaise that he normally has. It is fresh and made in smaller batches so that it goes to the distributor much quicker and so that it keeps it freshness.
Though what gets my attention is the fact that I am about to try mayonnaise that uses organic eggs. And I wonder what it is going to be like…….

- Organic white wine vinegar
- Organic egg yolks from free-range chickens
- Well water
- French grey sea salt
- Dry mustard
- Organic lemon juice
It’s not a watery mayonnaise, but it’s more watery than leading mayo brands. If you’ve ever made mayonnaise from scratch, the consistency is more dressing like and perfect for spreading. It’s a fantastic ingredient for salad dressings, dips, and potato or pasta salads.

Best Feature – Because it is like making your own homemade mayonnaise, it would be easy to serve to guests and pretend you made it. Especially for those of you that are always trying to impress others.
Overall – When I have the time I like to make my own mayonnaise in my home. I found Kyle’s Mayonnaise to be very comparable to homemade mayo. I did have concerns after receiving this mayo as the foil seal came right off when I removed the lid. It smelled like homemade mayo, however, and tasted like the mayo I make from scratch. My assumption is the foil seals are designed to loosen when the lid is removed.
The bottom line is that or the price and convenience, you can’t beat Kyle’s Homestead Classic Small Batch Mayo. With a choice of 16 or 32-ounce jars, you’ll have as much as you need without having so much that you end up wasting any product.
