Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs is a delicious recipe using up leftover couscous and other leftover ingredients and then cooked in the air fryer. It was published on recipethis.com in March of 2017 and we decided to update it with new info and new kitchen gadgets. We hope you enjoy our updated version.
Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs
My Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs is a genius leftover recipe of the silly leftover foods that you don’t know what to do with and you can now combine into one.
You can use up all those little bits of vegetables, some spare turkey, turkey stock if you have some and then you can use couscous to combine them.
I particularly like these Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs because everything that goes into them, I have in the fridge and the cupboard and let’s face it when it comes to leftovers, I think we always end up eating curry or pie and this is something different.
These Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs are also healthy, and you could take them with you to work, or even as a snack after exercise to refuel.
Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs (from leftovers)
If you have read our blog for a while, then you will know that we like to save money on our groceries and love making use of our leftovers. Just today as I write this, I have made the kids vegetables in a cheese sauce for lunch.
Made from vegetables that needed using up from the fridge and a half used can of coconut milk as well as some spare cheese. It was delicious and there is enough for a second helping for dinner tonight.
There is a similar theme going on with our Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs.
After a fridge raid, I have decided to add to them:
- Spare Vegetables
- Leftover Couscous
- Leftover Brown Turkey Meat
You might have some leftover Instant Pot Rotisserie Chicken or some vegetables that you bought that you forgot to use.
You are probably wondering why couscous? Well couscous is a very cheap ingredient and is an amazing binding agent when making turkey meatballs.
Quite often when you cook couscous you can end up with lots of leftover as it multiplies so much and instead of breadcrumbs you can use it in your turkey meatballs in the air fryer.
Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs + Coconut
My magic trick with making Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs is coconut flakes or you might call them desiccated coconut. It gives it a fantastic crunchy coating and helps make the turkey meatballs crispy.
Also, when you use a wet texture in your meatballs, coconut can help to stop the turkey meatballs from sticking to the air fryer.
Turkey Meatballs In The Air Fryer
I love using the air fryer to cook my turkey meatballs and it is so EASY. Simply add your meatball ingredients into a bowl, mix well and then shape into turkey meatballs.
Cook in the air fryer on a medium heat and you have delicious Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs.
They are delicious, and you will want to rinse and repeat and cook meatballs in your air fryer forever.
You can also mix and match your air fryer meatballs. Maybe next time you will make beef meatballs, or pork meatballs!!!
Using A Meatball Press
We used a Meatball Press to create perfect Air Fryer Meatballs. It is just the BEST. Then nobody argues over who gets the biggest one as they will all be in the same equal shape.
You feed the meatball mixture into the press and then the meatball press does the hard work for you.
