Welcome to Airfryer vegetarian recipes – 7 magical ways to cook vegetables in the Airfryer.
I was once a vegetarian. It lasted a couple of years and I swapped meat for vegetables and I didn’t touch a piece of meat for a whole 2 years. For a teenager this is a big deal as we often change our minds so quickly, plus when you have parents that live and dream about meat it can often be a big change in eating habits.
I always loved vegetables so it wasn’t a problem. But growing up in the 90’s meant that dinner was on the table at 5pm when you got home from school and it would always come out of a can.
They normally came from Heinz and would involve macaroni cheese, spaghetti bolognese, and these awful things that were called canned meatballs along with the odd frozen turkey strip.
Not exactly a balanced diet and as I entered vegetarianism the spaghetti bolognese was replaced with macaroni cheese and all these years later I can’t stand those cans, though I am sure there is another generation of kids that have them served each night as dinner.
But this is when the airfryer comes in as it can deliver some amazing vegetarian meals with very little preparation time and kids will actually look forward to eating vegetables.
You don’t have to be a vegetarian to enjoy these recipes. I am not and haven’t been a vegetarian for a number of years. These recipes are great side dishes, perfect for if like my mum you have a teenage vegetarian to accommodate, or just want to get in your 5 a day. I also use several of these recipes as a way to get rid of vegetables before it goes past its sell by date.
First Let’s Talk Air Fryers
As you are probably aware this blog is about kitchen gadgets. We love kitchen gadgets as a way to make cooking in the kitchen easier for families. We love our Instant Pot, slow cooker, blender, juicer, soup maker and of course our air fryer.
Air fryers were originally a way for fat people to still eat their fries but with a lot less oil and hopefully lose some weight at the same time. We bought our Philips Airfryer when we were both obese and it has served us well.

Over the years we have discovered that air fryers are not just for making French Fries in but they can serve as a purpose for a whole variety of recipes and we love sharing our new air fryer creations with our readers.
This is the one we have:
We have had our air fryer for over 5 years. We can’t remember the actual date we got it but we do remember that we had it in 2011 but not sure of the exact time. Back then there was just Tefal and Philips selling them and we went with Philips!
It is often strange if we go a day without using it and we love it for quick healthy meals or sides.
At the time we paid about 120€ for it and it amazes me how long it has lasted without any issues.
