Welcome to my copycat KFC Zinger chicken burger in the Airfryer recipe.
We have had all kinds of burgers now on the Recipe This blog. I have done my favourite traditional burger for the Airfryer, pulled pork burgers, veggie burgers, Hawaiian chicken and later this month we plan to have more with it being perfect burger weather at the moment.
But one thing we have never done is create burgers from chicken or from turkey. There has always been a big reason for this and that is it is impossible to source turkey or chicken mince here in Portugal.
You can get pork and beef really easily and you can also get the most amazing pre-packaged version of the two together. But chicken and turkey just isn’t there.
The meat of Portugal has always been pork and value for money so we can rightly understand how this happens.

But with so many food bloggers bringing out burgers using pork or chicken it does make you rather envious of wanting to try them and to jump of the poultry burger bandwagon.
So we finally bit the bullet. Unlike in America where you can get the mince all nicely packaged up we are forced to mince up chicken breasts in the food processor, but the end result is still the same, just a little bit more work for us.
I also absolutely adore a chicken burger but sometimes they can be really boring so I jumped at the chance to recreate the traditional KFC Zinger Burger and to add some spice into my burgers.
Also if you use traditional bread crumbs mix you can save a lot of calories that you would normally associate with having a deep fried KFC burger.
Plus I adore my Airfryer and to see it in action and getting used that can save me calories is even better!
