Welcome to my French Onion Soup in the soup maker.
If I want a trip down memory lane of holidays in France it doesn’t get any better than French Onion Soup.
I remember we would visit some lovely parts of France in the motorhome and food was a very big thing.
You just can’t go to France and not like food. A supermarket will even have ten different types of onions and tomatoes and sometimes it can feel like food overload.
Because my parents worked in tourism we would always go in the winter months so soup was something that was very good for warming us up.

At it just wouldn’t be the same without loads of French crusty bread.
But even though it is often served as a starter in French restaurants onion soup is also very frugal and good for you. That is minus all the bread that I normally have with it!

Hi, your recipe calls for 5 large celery sticks but then doesn’t mention them in the instructions…am I missing something? Thanks! After finishing this recipe it really was a delightful soup.
Hi Barbara,
Sorry Barbara, No you are not missing something thank you for spotting that.
The celery sticks after been diced get added at the same time as the onions and carrots.
Kind Regards
Sam
