Welcome to my Meatless Monday Airfryer baked camembert cheese with soldiers recipe. This recipe is one of my all time favourites for the cheese lovers out there and is perfect for sharing.

Welcome to my Meatless Monday Airfryer baked camembert cheese with soldiers recipe.

For this week with it being man food month we are all about food that you have to share on a romantic night in together with the kids. Though this clearly didn’t go to plan with this recipe when you have a hungry toddler about with an addiction to cheese! But if you can keep the kids off it this is perfect for nights in with a bottle of wine.

Okay so before you point out that I am not getting the point of meatless Monday I already know! I know it should be all about increasing your vegetables while at the same time having a meat free day. But all the vegetarian meals that I have planned for the blog at the moment seem to be vegetable free. Its not that I don’t love my vegetables as I really do, but this became a quick experiment and I just had to post it and share it with you!

But if you are looking for something that really fits in with the Meatless Monday theme I highly recommend that you check out my cauliflower burgers recipe as they are amazing!

Well anyway, back to my Airfryer baked camembert cheese recipe. Now this came about purely by accident even though I have seen it a lot on menus in pubs in the UK. It is just something that I have never got around to having myself.

Plus I loved the idea of it being with soldiers as it is something that I would have when I was little and Sofia was yet to try them as we don’t have bread in the house very often.

I had loads of spare cheese in the fridge including a whole camembert that had been on offer when Dominic had done the grocery shopping. The boys were painting Sofia’s bedroom and me and Sofia were in the kitchen doing lots of baking. It had suddenly got really late and we were in a rush for something to eat. We put the cheese in the Airfryer and did some toast into soldiers and 15 minutes later we were sat around the coffee table tucking in.

Well actually that “we” should be single as Sofia gobbled it all up and didn’t leave me any! She is the biggest cheese freak that I know and whenever cheese is about you better make sure you get in quick, otherwise you wont see it!

Ingredients
  • philips Airfryer
  • 1 Camembert
  • 2 Slices Bread
Metric - Imperial
Instructions
  1. Place the camembert into a sturdy container and place in the Airfryer for 15 minutes at 180c. Give it a shake every 5 minutes so that the cheese has the chance to melt evenly.
  2. When it has 2 minutes to go make the toast and then chop them into soldiers.
  3. When the cheese is done rip the top layer off and serve.
Recipe Notes

You can do the same with a lot of French cheeses it doesn’t just have to be camembert though given its texture it works so well.

I bet this is a favourite recipe during the winter months, love how uncomplicated it is. (And I didn’t know anyone else called little bites of breads soldiers apart from us! :-D)
