Ninja Foodi Spaghetti Bolognese

I was always a believer that spaghetti Bolognese was something single guys did to impress the ladies. Because spaghetti Bolognese was the one meal that the typical man could always cook.

But I rarely cooked spaghetti Bolognese for myself and after each time eating it, I always wonder why I don’t eat it more often. Its delicious and deserves to come out and be enjoyed for a quick family dinner.

In the Milner’s house our pasta dishes is usually in a salad in summer or using pasta shapes in a Bolognese that is loaded with spare vegetables.

Making me wonder why we rarely buy spaghetti.

When one of my readers asked me to show her how to cook spaghetti in the Ninja Foodi, I welcomed the chance to enjoy a family meal of spaghetti in the famous meat sauce.

Can You Pressure Cook Spaghetti?

Yes, you can. When you cook a pressure cooker spaghetti for the first time you will wonder why you didn’t cook spaghetti in the pressure cooker years ago.

Unlike when you make spaghetti on the stovetop you only need one pan aka the pressure cooker pot.

You can also use the same pot for any leftovers you might have.

Ninja Foodi Pasta

You are probably wondering what Ninja Foodi pasta can be cooked? Well, you will be pleased to know that any pasta that can be pressure cooked or air fried, can be done using your Ninja Foodi.

My favourite is to dump it all in and make a Ninja Foodi Mac & Cheese. But you can also use the Ninja Foodi for any of your favourite pasta dishes. Or just cook Ninja Foodi pasta on its own and then use it to load into a salad.

Cooking Pasta In Ninja Foodi

The SECRET to cooking pasta in the Ninja Foodi, or any other electric pressure cooker, is to make sure the pasta is not exposed. By that I mean that the pasta is covered by enough water so that it wont go hard and then you end up with dry pasta.

Or even worse when your spaghetti goes brown on top because it wasn’t covered.

BUT you also don’t want to add too much because you will end up with a pasta dish that is swimming in water.

Ninja Foodi Spaghetti #1 Tip

One thing that will horrify you when you first cook Ninja Foodi spaghetti is that it looks like soup when you first release pressure.

You will be thinking that you added too much liquid.

Like you see here:

But a quick stir later and you will have perfect spaghetti Bolognese.

The Ninja Foodi spaghetti cook time is JUST 5 minutes with a quick pressure release.

I find it much quicker to make spaghetti in the Ninja Foodi because you can just leave it and you are only using one cooking pot instead of two. Then you don’t have to worry if your spaghetti is done, simply come back when the Ninja Foodi beeps.

Ninja Foodi Spaghetti Sauce Recipe

An old friend messaged me and knew I was the person to ask questions about the Ninja Foodi. Feeding a big family, she just wanted an easy spaghetti Bolognese recipe. (us Brits call it spaghetti Bolognese or spag bol rather than spaghetti sauce)

She asked me if mushrooms could be added.

Then asked about a few other ingredients and it made me realise that a Ninja Foodi spaghetti sauce recipe is all about the ingredients that YOU love.

Whilst I hate mushrooms and love extra garlic in mine, you may prefer peppers or courgettes in yours. Go with the ingredients you love and the more extra veggies you add the more mouths you will be able to feed from one batch of spaghetti sauce.

Notes

Ratio. I like to do 600g of ground minced beef. This might be too meaty for some and I recommend if you want more spaghetti than meat to reduce this by a 1/3.
Extras. I usually clear my fridge out when making Bolognese and you can do the same. Use up those leftover mushrooms, spare garlic cloves, carrots, celery etc. I also used my soup maker tomato sauce that was made from just spare vegetables. Though you can use any tomato sauce.

I made this. I was sceptical of how it would turn out but honestly one of the best spag bols I’ve ever done. I only used 400g minced beef, 600ml of beef stock instead of water, made from a stock cube, and tomato pasatta. I followed the recipe above but only did 4 mins pressure cooker (by mistake) but left it on keep warm for the extra min before doing the quick release.
Served with parmigiano and garlic bread.
Absolutely gorgeous for the amount of ingredients.
