Welcome to my Slimming World Pepperoni & Cheese Pizza Chips Fakeaway night in. Munch your way through a Slimming World Fakeaway of pizza and chips with very little Syns. Perfect for a Friday night in for two.
Come on be honest…what were your pre-Slimming World takeaways like? Did you ring for a pizza? A doner kebab? A curry? A Chinese?
Well for us we used to ring for a takeaway pizza.
I was at university so we lived in the university district of a big city and that meant that we had a LOT of different special offers for students. There were about 5 leaflets that had been pushed through our door when we moved in.
They all came with buy one get one free on the pizzas and the pizzas were absolutely delicious. I would order a cheese pizza with cheesy chips (I was always a sucker for those) along with some Diet Coke and some onion rings.
Totally bad for you and so tasty at the same time.
Dominic preferred a burger so that would mean that I would have a pizza all to myself. I could never manage it all though so it was no surprise that I had the leftovers the day after.
When I arrived at university I weighed in at 10stone and 2 years later I was 15stone. No wonder really. Add to this a couple of all inclusive holidays and I had gone from being slim to clinically obese.
Plus because there was never enough hours in the day we would be having our pizza and chips takeaway up to 4 times a week. I was at university full time, then I was starting my online career, then I was a mum to a toddler and a wife too. It was just a crazy time.
I am now around the 12stone mark with a couple of stone left to lose to get me back to where I was and that is why I don’t have any of those real takeaways anymore and the inspiration behind my Slimming World Chips fakeaway.
Beat The Takeaway 20 Minute Slimming World Chips
In the old days when we used to ring a takeaway, we were so lazy that we would argue over who would ring up. Neither of us wanted to go to the door to collect it or ring it up. So it was one got one job and one got the other.
But by the time we had rung up and ordered our dinner and waited for it to come it would often be a good half an hour. They promoted a 20 minute turnaround time, but it was NEVER that quick! Then after that, you would have to put the food in the microwave to warm it up as it had got cold on the way to deliver it.
So I decided to set us a challenge. Unlike 2014 when we were spending our evenings watching British Cable TV and ordering greasy takeaways, we now have Netflix along with an Airfryer and with a Netflix marathon being planned we have 20 minutes to put together a delicious round of Slimming World friendly pizza fries.
Even better than that they will be Virtually Syn Free and be as low in calories as you could possibly get!
So the question is – can you put the timer on and achieve delicious Slimming World Chips with pizza loaded on top in 20 minutes or less???
Well the timer has been set….

- Peel and slice your potatoes into fries. Place them in the Airfryer and cook for 12 minutes on 180c/360f with the olive oil.
- Remove the Slimming World Chips from the Airfryer and place them into the Airfryer Baking Pan.
- Mix the freshly diced tomatoes with the oregano and salt and pepper and then place over the chips in the baking pan. Then cover it with the cheese, then the pepperoni and then more cheese.
- Cook for a further 3 minutes at 160c/320f and when it beeps serve immediately.
I always measure out my olive oil into a measuring cup and then slowly sprinkle it over the top. Then using the tongs I then mix them well so that every fry is well coated.
It’s important that you well season the tomatoes as tomatoes can taste rather bland if you don’t include lots of salt, pepper and oregano. As an alternative to pepperoni you can also use chorizo. I prefer chorizo and it is so flavoursome and so much healthier than pepperoni.
I recommend you check out our Air Fryer Accessories to see what accessories you need.
Slimming World Chips
If you had a regular pizza you would be talking a LOT of Syns. Actually I turned to my Slimming World book and a meaty cheese pizza is 7.5 Syns per slice. Yes…..PER SLICE. However load your favourite pizza toppings over some of my Slimming World Chips and it is virtually Syn Free yet you will still be getting a huge carbs kick.
We only live once and it’s that exact reason why we have so much cheese on our Slimming World Pizza Fries. I could of course reduce it and say ¼ of a healthy extra for this, but instead I have added a lot more cheese and made it ½ HEA per person.
For Syns in your Slimming World Chips it is 8 Syns altogether for the olive oil and then for the pepperoni it would be 2.5 Syns. This is a total of 10.5 Syns for the meal and between two of you that is 5.25 Syns each. Plus of course the ½ a HEA for the cheese.
Now remember in a pizza restaurant for 5.25 Syns you wouldn’t even get a single slice.
Slimming World Build Your Own Pizza
Remember you could build your own fakeaway pizza by changing the toppings. Have a cheese and tomato pizza, a Hawaiian or even a meat feast. The choice is yours.
Here are some low Syn options to add to your Slimming World Chips:
I also set myself the target of making my pizza in 20 minutes and wow….I did it in 18 minutes. It is so easy and perfect for a night in with your man.
