Slimming World Syn Free Creamy Beef Stroganoff in the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. Easy to make with just a handful of ingredients and so yummy that you will want to stay on Slimming World forever.
Slimming World Syn Free beef stroganoff is the food of your dreams. Well that is what Dominic says. You know how it is with men, they say its easier to change a mans religion than it is to put him on a diet. So, he is always pleasantly surprised when after he says my food is AMAZING that I mention that if he was on Slimming World that it would be Syn Free.
The addiction to this Beef Stroganoff hits you in a few different levels:
- Its SYN FREE making it perfect for you if you follow Slimming World
- It is mushroom free in case you HATE mushrooms
- It has JUST 4 main ingredients + seasoning
- It takes JUST 15 minutes to COOK
Just say those four things over and over in your mind and you will be wanting to eat this every day.
Dominic had a plan of action. We should have this every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, roast dinner on a Sunday and my chicken traybake on Tuesdays and Thursdays and he would be happy forever and ever!
I think from what he said it means that this delicious Syn Free Beef Stroganoff has made it on his favourite foods list!!
I also made it in our Instant Pot electric pressure cooker and this made it even easier and quicker. In fact, it was so easy and so quick that it even shocked me! I literally threw the ingredients in, put it to pressure, released pressure and stirred in the last ingredients. I even think with how easy it is that this should be hangover or sleepless nights with baby’s food!
To Cook Beef Stroganoff in the Instant Pot it is simple as this:
#1 Prep Ingredients
Add the onion, beef and pasta to the Instant Pot with some water. Set it to pressure and wait for it to beep.
#2 Stir Thoroughly
Give it a good stir so that all the water has been dissolved and to make sure you have a good mix of the ingredients.
#3 Add Everything Else & Serve
Then when the Instant Pot beeps, manually release pressure and add your other ingredients. Change to the keep warm setting so that your food doesn’t go cold and so that your cheese warms up in the pot.
Slimming World Beef Stroganoff With Philadelphia
Is it me or does everything taste better if you add Philadelphia to the ingredients list?
It just gives it that AMAZING creamy taste and you would think that you had used double cream in this recipe. It truly is that good.
My daughter (who is 4 this November) has a favourite word now and it is “wow” and that is what she said when I gave her the empty Philadelphia tub to lick out! She also hid under a table so that her younger brother couldn’t steel it from her!
I also recommend that you use the garlic herb version of Philadelphia (light of course for Slimming World HEA). That way you need less herbs and no garlic in the cooking process and it frees up the amount of ingredients that you need to use.
I also use one 150g tub. Because its just one 150g tub and you are feeding 4 of you, this works out at just 37.5g per person. You could of course add extra cheese on top and you would still be well in on your healthy extra cheese allowance.Slimming World #SynFree #Beef #Stroganoff In The #InstantPot @recipe_thisClick To Tweet
- Thinly peel and slice the onion into long strips.
- Cut the beef into long strips too, removing any visible fat as you prep.
- Place the pasta, beef, onion into the Instant Pot inner pot.
- Add to it 500ml of warm water and stir well with a wooden spoon.
- Place the lid on the Instant Pot, set the valve to sealing and cook for 15 minutes on manual pressure.
- Manually release pressure when it beeps and place the Instant Pot on the keep warm setting.
- Stir in the seasoning and the Philadelphia cream cheese.
- Serve while still warm.
I would say this was enough to feed four of you a big portion each. But when we had it we had enough for five of us plus a little left over, so it depends how much you eat! I used two packs of 300g of beef frying steak. I call it frying steak as its incredibly thin steak that takes a minute to fry in a pan.
It can also be tough to chew, but thanks to the Instant Pot comes out as tender as fillet steak. You can use any cut of beef you like, this is just our personal choice. I have measured the balance of pasta to liquid several times and found that for the best results you need 2/3 water to pasta. I placed the pasta into cups as I measured it and filled 3 cups with pasta which worked out at 300g.
Then I added 2 cups of water which is 500ml. You need this balance otherwise the pasta will stick to the bottom or too much and you will have to drain your pasta before adding the cheese, which is annoying when it can all be cooked at once in the Instant Pot. I also found that it didn’t need beef stock as when I flavoured the water it tasted too strong and lost its cheesy flavour.
If you are on Slimming World this recipe works out Syn Free just using ¼ of a HEA for the Philadelphia. Of course, if you would rather have mushrooms then just swap the onions for mushrooms and cook for the same times.
