If you’ve been following our latest fakeaway theme, you will know that right now it is all about the Indian fakeaway. All those lovely foods that we all want to eat from the Indian but is often way too high in Syns for us even to consider it.
Well as part of our Indian food fakeaway campaign we are back today with our Syn Free Slimming World Chicken Tikka. But it gets better than that….as not only are we sharing with you our Slimming World Chicken Tikka recipe today, but tomorrow and the day after we will be sharing with you how to reuse the chicken tikka marinade to make a further two dishes.

All from this simple bowl of chicken tikka marinade:

From this bowl of chicken tikka heaven (that I have left from marinating overnight) I grabbed myself 2 large chicken breasts and put them on my chopping board, ready for making my Slimming World Chicken Tikka:
The chicken tikka is easy now as all I need to do is dice the chicken and place it in the air fryer:
Then when it beeps, a quick check to see if it is cooked and then get it on the fork as quick as possible so I can eat it all up:

But hang on a minute, don’t we need to make the marinade for the chicken tikkas?
Well that you do and that is so, so easy. You will wonder once you have made your own chicken tikka, why you ever bought an overpriced jar of chicken tikka sauce for all those years.
Whether you’re following our recipe for Slimming World Chicken Tikka or you are doing something else such as fish or beef or pork, you can use this chicken tikka marinade as your base.

To make chicken tikka marinade you add the following to a mixing bowl:
- 1Tsp Grated Ginger
- 2Tsp Garlic Puree
- ½ Small Diced Onion
- Pinch Of Chilli
- 2Tsp Garam Masala
- 2Tsp Paprika
- 2Tsp Turmeric
- 2Tsp Cumin
- Juice & Rind of 1 Lemon
- 300ml Greek Yoghurt
- And Mix Well
This is enough to marinade 4 large chicken breasts and once you have mixed the chicken tikka marinade with the breasts you can also freeze it for another day.
I often make my chicken tikka marinade after cooking dinner while I am washing up. Then its ready for cooking with for lunch or dinner the next day.#SynFree Slimming World Chicken Tikka In The Air Fryer @recipe_thisClick To Tweet
- In a mixing bowl add all your chicken tikka marinade ingredients. Mix well until you have an even marinade.
- Add the chicken breasts and allow to marinade overnight.
- The next day remove the chicken breasts from the marinade and place them on a chopping board. Chop into chicken tikka bite shapes.
- Cook in the air fryer grill pan inside of the air fryer for 10 minutes at 180c/360f.
- Serve warm.
This chicken tikka marinade is enough to do 4 chicken breasts. I just used 2 out of those 4 chicken breasts for another meal. So if you just add 2 more chicken breasts you could double up your chicken tikka.
