Welcome to my best ever ice cream maker chocolate ice cream.
I don’t know about you but when I think of ice cream it has to be the three main flavours that you will find at every ice cream shop.
Vanilla ice cream for those of you that like that basic flavour, strawberry for those like me that are mad for strawberries and people like Dominic that go crazy whenever there is any chocolate ice cream available.
This is probably why I always end up with cookie dough ice cream and Dominic has the chocolate brownie whenever we have a Ben & Jerry’s evening ice cream binge.
But probably the reason why I don’t eat chocolate ice cream and always turn to vanilla with added flavours is because I often find chocolate ice cream over powering. When we buy those big 2 litre tubs of Italian ice cream, where you get strawberry, vanilla and chocolate with a section of each, if I have got in first then it will just be left with the chocolate section ready for Dominic to finish for me.
But what if I could make a delicious chocolate ice cream that I really, really like?
Now that would be amazing and is exactly what I wanted to achieve with this one. I have already done a delicious Paleo approved chocolate ice cream that I loved because it was not as rich, so what else could we do?
And then the thought came to me…..
What if I made chocolate ice cream out of one of my favourite chocolates instead? Then I could have something completely new and exciting and then change the recipe depending on what chocolate I had in.

Place your vanilla ice cream back in your ice cream maker, or make our vanilla ice cream (get the recipe here).
Add the cocoa powder and the wispa bites (or use chocolate of your choice).
Then place the ice cream maker on for 20 minutes.
Freezer for an hour and then serve.
For this recipe we are using my leftover Wispa bites but you could use any of your favourite chocolates and change it depending on what you prefer.
