Okay so it is January the diet month of the year. The time of year when everyone is detoxing from all that incredibly naughty food that they had over Christmas. Those mince pies, those roast potatoes, the veggie bake and of course the high calorie Christmas cake.
Add to this all the drinking and all that chocolate and come January most of us are in a sorry state. We are in need of a good old detox and I have just the one for you.
This is the Kate Price Juice Diet adapted to what I like in 2016. I originally followed this as a diet where I replaced two meals a day with this green detox smoothie and I must admit I felt truly amazing.
I had it for breakfast and evening meals and then had a cooked lunch. I even lost a fair amount of weight at the same time and I was truly buzzing from all the extra vegetables that my body was not used to receiving.
But at the time I absolutely hated it because I had no juicer and it took forever to get everything ready and it felt like true torture doing it.
Fast forward a couple more years and unlike 2014 I now have a professional juicer and I can juice everything at speed without having to worry.
I have also added some extra vegetables to the mix and made it a bit easier to make.
So if you feel like you want to give your body the ultimate boost then I highly recommend this. - 1 Small Cucumber skin removed
- 4 Celery Sticks
- 1 Medium Pineapple peeled and chopped
- 1 Bag Fresh Spinach
- 1 Lime juice
- 8 Large Apples peeled and cores removed
- 2 Ripe Avocadoes flesh only
- 1 Small Banana
- 30 g Fresh Ginger peeled
- Place all the ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth. If it is too thick then add a little water or if it is not thick enough add another avocado.
- Serve chilled.
Due to the fact that vegetables that you buy can carry different amount of juice, depends on the thickness of your smoothie. Therefore adjust the recipe with more or less water or avocado. I also find that if you don’t like avocados that you can replace it with more bananas instead for a lovely thick shake.
I also like mine with a good kick from the ginger as it is also good for your metabolism but if you don’t like a kick then reduce the amount of ginger.
