Syn Free Roasted Swede In The Air Fryer

Easy Air Fryer Roasted Swede. Syn Free for Slimming World. Soft in the inside and crispy on the outside and a great alternative to roast potatoes.

  • Peel and dice your swede. Place it into your Instant Pot steamer basket. In your Instant Pot lower the steamer shelf into it and then place the steamer basket on top.
  • Pour over a cup of warm water.
  • Place the lid on the Instant Pot, set the valve to sealing and cook for 4 minutes on manual pressure.
  • Quickly release pressure on your Instant Pot.
  • Drain the swede and mix in the garlic puree and the seasoning.
  • Place it in the air fryer basket and cook for 14 minutes at 180c/360f.
  • Serve.

Notes

I didn’t weigh my swede before making it into roasties because it was unplanned. But if you just use a regular sized swede that will be fine. I must admit to being slow at prepping food. I make a terrible kitchen assistant as I just don’t have the speed.
 
One of my favourite ways to save time and speed me up is to use garlic puree instead of fresh garlic. A teaspoon into a recipe is the 1 second it takes rather than peeling and grating garlic. Plus, you can often get it in jars soaked in water and free of additives. This is the brand we use. Because of the texture of swede, they take a bit longer to cook and become crispy than potatoes take.
