  • Clean and remove any dead bits from your green beans.
  • Place the green beans into the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker.
  • Add ¾ cup of cold water to the Instant Pot and season with salt and pepper.
  • Place the lid on the Instant Pot, set the valve to sealing and cook for 2 minutes on manual.
  • While the green beans are cooking, mix together the butter and parsley with garlic to form a garlic butter. Put to one side.

  • Place the green beans onto a serving dish and add your garlic butter.

Notes

I always give the green beans a good wash under a cold tap before I cook with them. Even when bought in packaging they can still have some dirt. I also remove any dead bits off the ends that you wouldn’t want yourself and your family eating.
I would recommend placing the green beans in a steamer basket, rather than straight in the bottom. The only reason we didn’t, is because we didn’t have it with us at the time. If you follow Paleo or the Whole30 then swap them for ghee. Or if you are on a low fat diet, then you can just have them without the butter.
We bought 2 small packs of green beans and it worked out at a weight of 400g. If you are waiting for other things to cook, place the green beans in a dish in the oven on the lowest setting for 5 minutes. It will also give the garlic butter the chance to melt. You can also add the garlic butter to the Instant Pot and keep it cool in there instead.
When I am cooking a very small amount of vegetables in the Instant Pot, I have found you don’t need the full 1 cup of water to go to pressure. It also speeds up the time it takes to go to pressure.
