Instructions

  • In a bowl make your meatballs. Add the seasoning, the onion, the beef mince, the breadcrumbs and the egg and mix well. Combine the mixture into meatballs using your meatball press and put to one side.
  • Place your meatballs into the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes at 180c/360f.
  • Slice open your bread and layer it with the marinara sauce and the meatballs. Add in the cheese and place in the air fryer.
  • Cook for a further 3 minutes at 200c/400f. This will allow the bread and the tomato sauce to warm up and the cheese to melt.
  • Serve while still warm.

Notes

You can use any bread, any cheese or any marinara sauce that you want.
We used our homemade tomato sauce and our homemade bread recipe where the bread was made into baguettes. It is totally up to you.
You can also use any type of mince. Just remember if you use pork mince it is fatty and will need more breadcrumbs and you would need to make the pork meatballs without the egg. Otherwise they will not combine.
Or if you use a lean mince like minced lamb that it is very dry so won’t need any breadcrumbs.
