  • Roll out your pie crust and place it into the bottom of your pie pan.

  • Place your just peeled and diced apples, along with your lemon, cinnamon and nutmeg into the pie pan and push it down and make sure there are no apple gaps.

  • Add the second layer of pie crust over your apples and press down. Stab with a knife in the middle to allow the pie room to breathe and using a pastry brush add a layer of egg wash.

When you add the apples, 6-7 apples before being peeled is an average. But the amounts of apples you need depends on the size of your pie pan. You also want to push down the apples into any gaps and fit as many as you can in your pie pan.
You can use any type of apples in your apple pie. Though traditionally Bramley or Granny Smiths work the best.
