Instructions

  • Place the flour, butter and sugar into a mixing bowl. Rub the butter into the sugar and flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. Then add the vanilla essence and then enough milk to make a soft dough.
  • Make into 4 equal sized dough balls that resemble scone shapes.
  • Place in the Airfryer inside your baking pan and cook for 10 minutes at 180c/356f.
  • Once cooked allow to cool for a couple of minutes on a cooling rack.
  • Then cut in half and fill them with fresh strawberries, whipped cream and some strawberry jam.

Notes

What is great about this recipe is that the measurements are so easy to remember. To make the scone mixture you have 80z of self raising flour to a quarter of that for both butter and caster sugar. Then you only need enough milk to make the dough combine. This makes it really easy and quick to prepare.
Make the strawberries pretty by cutting into halves and quarters and decorating them like you would get them if you went out for afternoon tea.
I just used a couple of drops of vanilla essence in this recipe as that’s all it needs as it is not a big part in British scones but adds a little extra flavour.
To save measuring them out a handful of fresh strawberries is fine to use.
