Chop up your slices of bread into soldiers. Each slice should make 4 soldiers.
Place the rest of your ingredients (apart from the icing sugar) into a mixing bowl and mix well.
Dip each soldier into the mixture so that it is well coated and then place it into the Air Fryer. When you’re done you will have 16 soldiers and then should all be nice and wet from the mixture.
Place on 160c for 10 minutes or until they are nice and crispy like toast and are no longer wet. Halfway through cooking turn them over so that both sides of the soldiers have a good chance to be evenly cooked.
Serve with a sprinkle of icing sugar and some fresh berries.
I find that like when you make breadcrumbs this recipe works best on bread that has gone a little stale.
