Drain your haricot beans (very important otherwise your dish will be very salty), chop up your tomatoes and add them to the slow cooker.
Add all your different seasonings and your tomato sauce and mix well.
Chop up your thick sausages into quarters and also add them to your slow cooker.
Put the lid on your slow cooker and cook for 6 hours on the low setting.

I find that this recipe works amazing as a base for future casseroles and slow cooker meals. You could add meat and potatoes to it or more vegetables or like they have in Portugal add some delicious fish.I added some sausages to my version and it makes a great alternative to the traditional sausage casserole that we have on our blog and instead of it being all sausage and tomato you have more of a filling meal.
