Preheat the oven to 220c. Place your sausages in a deep casserole dish and cook for 15 minutes.
While your sausages are in the oven cooking make your batter. Mix flour and seasoning in a bowl, add your egg and stir with a wooden spoon. Add your milk gradually until you have a nice batter. Add the milk a little at a time so that you don’t end up with a watery batter. Beat well and put to one side.
Once your sausages have been cooking for 15 minutes pour over your batter and cook for a further 10 minutes.
Serve with mash and gravy.
Notes
Toad in the hole is made best with thick sausages so avoid the skinny type.
