Instant Pot Cabbage
Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Cabbage. Easy simple and perfect side for lunch or dinner.
Servings: 1 Kilo
Clean the cabbage and shred it.
Place it into the Instant Pot inner pot.
Add to it your desired seasoning along with 500ml (just over a pint) of warm water.
Place the lid on the Instant Pot, set to sealing and cook for 2 minutes on manual.
Manually release pressure (QPR), allow to cool slightly and then serve.
We used a kilo (2.2lbs) worth of cabbage for our Instant Pot pressure cooker cabbage. You can of course adjust to suit and the great thing about the pressure cooker, is that you can cook less or more, for the same cooking time.
If you’re using the cabbage for a soup or bubble and squeak, we recommend NPR (natural pressure release). But if you just want it for a quick cook for a dinner side then use QPR (quick pressure release).
We love to season our cabbage as we cook it. It helps bring you a delicious flavour as it cooks and perfect if you want to pre-plan your meals. We mix together ½ a litre of water with a veggie OXO cube and pour it over the cabbage, then sprinkle with salt and pepper before steaming it.
