Air Fryer Roasted Chicken With Sage & Onion Stuffing. A delicious Sunday dinner on a budget and so easy to make. I can guarantee there will no leftovers when you serve this.
First make your sage and onion stuffing. Peel and thinly dice the onion. Mix it together in a bowl along with the rest of your sage and onion stuffing ingredients.
Stuff the sage and onion stuffing into the cavity of your roasted chicken.
Massage the olive oil into the breast sides of the chicken until all skin has been massaged. Season the oily areas with salt, pepper and parsley.
Turn the roasted chicken over and place in the air fryer breast side down.
While it is sat in the air fryer rub the bottom skin areas of the chicken breast in the olive oil, followed by the same seasonings.
Cook your air fryer roasted chicken breast side down for 25 minutes at 180c/360f.
When the Air Fryer beeps using your tongs turn it over and cook it for the same amount of time and at the same temperature on the other side.
I find that because there are less visible skin areas on the bottom of the chicken, that I use 2 tablespoons of olive oil on the breast side and ½ a teaspoon on the other side. This sage and onion stuffing recipe is enough to stuff 3 small chickens or 1 chicken and 6 sage and onion stuffing balls.
Because the sage and onion stuffing is made with fresh ingredients you could stuff one chicken, then freeze 2 separate batches for further air fryer roast chicken dinners. The chickens we buy are approximately 1.2 kilos in weight. So, remember all chicken sizes are different and that you have to take into account that the chicken must be able to fit in your air fryer.
