Instant Pot Turkey Crown (Pressure Cooker Turkey Breast)

Delicious turkey crown cooked in the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. A simple way to achieve the perfect moist and NOT dry turkey.

  • Place garlic, lemon juice, olive oil in the Instant Pot and place it on the sauté setting. Wait until the Instant Pot starts to sizzle from the olive oil.
  • Using tongs rub the top and sides of the turkey crown skin in the sizzling olive oil, until it starts to get some colour on it.
  • Remove the turkey and put it to one side.
  • Peel and dice the carrots and onion. Add them to the bottom of the Instant Pot with the olive oil that is still there. Also add chicken stock. Add the seasonings.
  • Mix well.
  • Turn off sauté and place the turkey crown back in the Instant Pot.
  • Place the lid on the Instant Pot, set the valve to sealing and cook for 45 minutes on manual pressure.
  • Manually release pressure, take the turkey crown out of the Instant Pot and allow it to rest for 20 minutes prior to serving.

Notes

Our turkey crown weighed 2 kilos which is approximately 4.4lbs. A similar size would be good as it must fit in your Instant Pot (or other pressure cooker). I used ¼ of the carrot mixture from the bottom of the Instant Pot and blended it until smooth.
It made an amazing turkey gravy to serve the turkey crown with. Because the turkey crown is rather large it took 15 minutes for the Instant Pot to go to pressure and start counting down. We recommend this brand for a good quality stock for your turkey.
