Bread Maker Hot Cross Buns
Bread Maker Hot Cross Buns. How to make hot cross buns in a bread maker and then bake your hot cross buns in the air fryer. Perfect breakfast or brunch for Easter, these hot cross buns are truly delicious and addictive.
Hot Cross Buns Ingredients:
Follow our bread dough recipe and instead of making bread, click for the dough setting. When the setting is 5 minutes from the end add in your caster sugar, raisins and seasonings.
When the bread maker beeps and it has finished making your hot cross buns dough, roll it into 9 bread balls.
Load as many that will fit at once in the air fryer without being crowded. This depends on your air fryer size so could be between 2 and 5.
Cook your hot cross buns in the air fryer for 8 minutes at 160c/320f.
When cool mix together a little water with icing sugar until you have an icing paste. Add a cross to the top of each of your hot cross buns.
Serve warm with melted butter.
If you would like to add dried fruit, then reduce the raisins by a third and add in 30g of dried fruit.
You can also bypass adding the cross on the top of the hot cross buns and just have classic teacakes if you prefer.
