Air Fryer Calzone. How to transform your leftovers to make the most delicious air fryer calzone that you have ever tried. Similar to hand pies these loaded calzones are ideal for a fridge clear out, a planned leftover meal, or just something comforting to eat for a Friday supper.
Roll out your pie crust and use the back of it to cut out calzone shapes. I usually get four from each set of pie crust I roll out.
Place one of the pie crust rounds onto the pie maker. Using a spoon add in pie filling to one of the sides and then press it down and make sure you have not added too much.
Place the other side of the pie maker down, press it down and then release the pies from the pie maker. Do this for each pie you are making.
Cover your pie crust with egg wash. Place your calzone into the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes at 180c/360f.

Notes
Frozen. You can also cook frozen calzone in the air fryer or reheat unused calzone. What I like to do is brush any pastry or pizza dough bits with egg wash as it really helps stop it from going dry.Leftovers. Note that in this air fryer calzone recipe I am using leftover turkey pot pie from Thanksgiving. You can use any leftovers that have a sauce to them. That could be chicken pot pie, shepherds pie, beef stroganoff, corned beef hash, or even do a classic cheese and onion pasty.Healthy. If you would like a lower calorie version, I recommend swapping pastry for Weight Watchers tortilla wraps or a healthy wrap of choice. Thanks for reading our air fryer calzone recipe on Recipe This.
