Delicious and flavoursome but with just 3 ingredients. These pineapple fries are a super healthy, sweet tooth, family favourite. You will never think of pineapple in the same way again after trying these.

Instructions

  • If your pineapple is still whole, peel and chip the pineapple into chunky chip shapes.
  • Place the grill pan into your Airfryer and line up the fries into your grill pan so that they are in a long neat row and there are no gaps.
  • Cook in the Airfryer at 200c/390f for 3 minutes.
  • Then use some tongs to turn them over and cook for another 3 minutes (at the same temperature) on the other side.
  • Remove the grill pan from the Airfryer and sprinkle the pineapple fries in cinnamon. Then glaze them with a pastry brush with the honey.
  • Serve them immediately while they are still warm.

Notes

You want a nice sweet fresh pineapple. The out of season bitter ones taste horrible when they are cooked. I would also aim for a pineapple that has not been sat in your fridge for a week, as the fresher the better.
Its an easy ratio to remember 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to 1 tablespoon of honey. So if you want to make a lot more pineapple then increase this ratio.
I also find that it needs to cook at 200c in order for the pineapple to be cooked hot enough to get the grill look.
Don’t overcrowd the pineapple as it will not cook very well and you will result in an airfryer of slush.
