Instructions

  • Remove all the packaging from the condensed milk can and place it inside your inner pot in the Instant Pot. Pour over it enough boiling water so that you can no longer see the condensed milk can and so that it is submerged.
  • Place the lid on your Instant Pot, set the valve to sealing and cook for 40 minutes on manual.
  • When it beeps, manually remove pressure, wait until the can is cool enough to handle. Then remove the lid with a can opener and then serve.

Notes

Always use boiling water when putting it into the Instant Pot. This is because if you don’t then it will take ages to go to pressure. Go for a can that doesn’t have a pull lid. This is because it can end up exploding when pressure cooking otherwise. This is the brand we used.

Always make sure it is fully merged in water before you start. Remember you can then pour it into pretty jars (like we did) and pretend that you were slaving over a hot stove making amazing salted caramel.
