Air Fryer Pumpkin. The three best ways to cook pumpkin in the air fryer. If you would like to roast pumpkin in the air fryer this is how it is done. The pumpkin tastes delicious every single time and it will become an addiction in your air fryer too.

Air Fryer Pumpkin
As a kid I never recall eating pumpkin and Halloween was never really a thing for me growing up. But the moment I moved to Portugal pumpkin was everywhere.
It is the base of most Portuguese soups and my next door neighbour grows her own pumpkins.
I watch as she expertly slices a wedge off her pumpkin, ready for making soup. She will always provide me with a slice or two assuming that I don’t feed the kids enough vegetables and I gladly take it.
After all, I love pumpkin and free grown next door pumpkin seems so much better.
During pumpkin season you will find a batch of diced pumpkin in our fridge. Peeled when we have bought the pumpkin and then ready for using in soups, casseroles, curries and just for simple air frying.
Today what I wanted to do is share with you my favourite ways of air frying pumpkin. Ones that you can easily do at home with your own air fryer.

Can You Air Fry Pumpkin
Yes you can. You need to make sure that when you air fry pumpkin that is not too soft and that you are using the firmer parts of the pumpkin.
Otherwise you will not have that amazing air fryer roasted pumpkin texture.
Air Fryer Pumpkin Fries

If you would like to make air fryer pumpkin fries, then it is EASY. It is done in a similar way to our regular air fryer fries, just swapping potatoes for pumpkin.
I recommend keeping your pumpkin fries to a regular size and to make sure that you use firmer pieces of pumpkin.
Fleshy over wet pumpkin will stick together and you will not achieve a crispy pumpkin French fry.
How to make pumpkin fries?
To make air fryer pumpkin fries, peel and slice your pumpkin into medium French fries’ sizes.
- Load into a bowl and toss in your favourite seasoning.
- Load into the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes at 160c/320f, followed by 5 minutes on a high of 200c/400f.
Note that there is no oil required when cooking pumpkin in the air fryer. This is because pumpkin is not a dry vegetable and just doesn’t need it.
Air Fryer Pumpkin Cubes
What I also do is follow the same recipe that I have for air fryer butternut squash cubes and use it for pumpkin too.
The exact same recipe but swapping butternut squash for pumpkin. Or you can load your air fryer with lots of different winter squash if you prefer.
Air Fryer Pumpkin Wedges

I also love BIG pumpkin wedges in the air fryer. They are delicious and you don’t have to peel the pumpkin.
Simply cut off pumpkin wedges from your pumpkin, remove the pumpkin seeds and air fry.
Or another alternative is to cook air fryer acorn squash. Follow the same method as air fryer pumpkin wedges but swap it for acorn.

Thank you for the recipe. Love the fact that it is zero oil as on WW and doing some zero point blue days and this is ideal.
I made both your pumpkin wedges and your pumpkin fries and loved both. Though i think the wedges will be my favourite as less effort.
Amazing recipe. Thank you. 5/5.
