How To Cook Frozen Food In The Air Fryer. Did you ever wonder the times? how easy it is? or if it is possible to cook all your favourite frozen food in the air fryer? Well it is, and this is my guide for learning how to cook frozen food in the Air Fryer.
I remember school dinners after school or what my friends had if I went to their house for dinner. It would always involve either a deep fat fryer or the oven and always included frozen food.
There might be sausage, chips and gravy. Or it might be fish fingers with chips and beans. Or even small boxes of fish in a parsley sauce. Or it might be a can of spaghetti Bolognese served with oven chips.
It was the diet of the 90s.
I loved the chicken kievs, the mini kievs, the fish fingers, the breaded chicken breasts and don’t get me started about my HUGE addiction to onion rings.
But you had it in the deep fat fryer and suddenly you were talking a very high calorie dinner, or you had it in the oven and it always tasted soggy or lacked the crispy texture that you wanted.
That is why the air fryer is perfect for frozen food.
You can have that crispy texture, throw it all in and have dinner on the table within 20 minutes. It certainly puts a new meaning to 20-minute meals!
But I will also say that for us this is a rarity.
We are followers of Paleo and follow a healthy lifestyle (most of the time) and therefore eat a very small amount of processed foods. To use the closest, we get to processed foods is dairy and we have not bought frozen food for more than 5 years.
Though funny thing is, that the first thing we ever cooked in the air fryer was frozen chicken dippers and at the time we couldn’t believe how crispy they tasted. It was like having deep fried chicken dippers, with just less calories!
How To Cook Frozen Food In The Air Fryer

- Air Fryer
- 15 Onion Rings
- Place your onion rings into the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 7 minutes at 180c/360f.
- Serve with a dipping sauce of your choice.
I always say never ever over crowd your food in the air fryer. This particularly applies to cooking frozen food in the air fryer. That’s why I suggest cooking 15 onion rings at once and no more than that. Frozen food is already prepared ready for cooking. This means that you don’t need to season it or oil it before cooking it in the air fryer.

And that is it!
You will also notice that we featured the frozen French Fries in the air fryer last. There was a reason for this. This is because when we do a big batch of air fryer food, you have the problem with what you cooked first, going cold, while you wait for the rest of the food.
So, what we do is put our oven on, via the lowest setting. Then using a baking tray add the items as they are cooked. BUT French Fries (whether homemade or frozen ones) taste awful if kept warm in the oven. But everything else tastes lovely. Therefore, do the French Fries last!
Our guide showing you how to cook frozen food in the air fryer is complete. We have run through 8 of the most popular frozen foods and we hope they help you out, if frozen food in the air fryer is your thing.
