Pressure Cooker Baby Carrots. It is so easy to steam baby carrots in the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker in JUST 0 minutes. Grab a bag of your favourite baby carrots and let me guide you through it step by step.
Pressure Cooker Baby Carrots
Pressure Cooker Carrots is always something that I always say I should eat more of, but I never do. Its not that I don’t like them, because I do. Its just that there is always another way that I prefer to eat my carrots.
But just steamed on their own and then seasoned to have on my dinner plate, is something that always passes me by and I forget about. I remember some time ago making slow cooker honey glazed carrots and saying how much we loved them.
Yet they were published on the blog a long time ago and I haven’t made them since.
Well I decided to give my honey glazed carrots a pressure cooker makeover and using baby carrots we have finally got around to it.
By how quick the kids ate them I must say that they are a family winner, as they don’t even eat crispy chicken that fast. Or maybe that is because, born to food bloggers, they must wait until food is photographed before we let them eat it!
Pressure Cooker Baby Carrots
In our pressure cooker baby carrots recipe, we will be steaming the carrots first in our steamer basket.
That way they are not getting boiled in the water below and will retain the amazing flavour that carrots have.
After this point I will toss them in my marinade, and they will go from plain pressure cooker baby carrots into honey glazed and delicious pressure cooker baby carrots.
This Pressure Cooker Baby Carrots Recipe Is FANTASTIC Because:
- You have no peeling or dicing as your carrots are already prepped at the shop
- The marinade took me less than 2 minutes to mix in a bowl
- It pressure cooks for 0 minutes keeping it a fast recipe
- It makes a perfect healthy work snack and tastes just as good cold as hot
More Pressure Cooker Vegetables
But don’t stop there. There are many other delicious pressure cooker vegetables that you can cook in the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker.

Pressure Cooker Baby Carrots In 0 Minutes
One of the addictions to cooking pressure cooker baby carrots is that they require 0 minutes cooking time.
When you first get an electrical pressure cooker, you’ll be wondering what on earth this means. In beginners dialogue it means you set the timer on your pressure cooker to 0 minutes. Then as soon as the Instant Pot has arrived at pressure it stops. I use this time wisely and make my marinade for my baby carrots while the Instant Pot is going to pressure. Then when the baby carrots beep, I manually release pressure and mix them into the marinade.
- Place 1 cup of water into the bottom of the Instant Pot inner pot.
- Add the trivet/steamer shelf and place your steamer basket on top.
- Add your baby carrots to the steamer basket and season them with salt.
- Place the lid on the Instant Pot, set the valve to sealing and cook for 0 minutes.
- While it pressure cooks mix together the honey, salt and pepper and olive oil.
- Manually release pressure when it beeps and load your baby carrots into the marinade bowl and mix well.
- Serve warm or cold.
If your honey is really thick, I recommend adding in a teaspoon of cold water to help it mix better or extra olive oil. You can go oil free and replace it with water. I always use bags of carrots that have already been peeled. The steamer basket we recommend is this one, as it expands depending on how much veg you have to cook. We either use this one or our old one from a soup machine we used to own. If you don’t like honey you can swap it for brown sugar or an organic maple syrup.
Can’t make it now? Then pin it for later!
